Body to Body

Description

Body to Body. Meeting with Vittorio Lingiardi and Maurizio Ferraris Thursday 09 October | 7.00 pm | Piazza del Sole, Bellinzona Sconfinare Festival 2025

What does it mean, today, to inhabit a body? Where does the flesh end and the code begin? In the age of artificial intelligence and digital identities, the boundaries between reality and representation, between human and machine, are becoming increasingly blurred. But the body remains there - vulnerable, sensitive, desiring - to remind us who we are, and how much we are still made of skin, memory and presence.

The opening event of the sixth edition of the Sconfinare Festival brings together two of the most significant and original voices of contemporary thought: Vittorio Lingiardi, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, author of the recent Corpo, umano (Einaudi, 2024), and Maurizio Ferraris, philosopher, author of La pelle (Il Mulino, 2025), a philosophical reflection on the human condition in the era of artificial intelligence.

Starting from their latest books, the two authors will guide us on a journey through the body in all its dimensions: biological and symbolic, concrete and narrated, exposed and pulsating. A dialogue that will focus on the body as a living border between the self and the world, and that will question us on the new (and very ancient) forms of our identity. A journey between philosophy and psychoanalysis to rediscover the body - as Vittorio Lingiardi would say - in the words that tell it.
