Capanna Scaletta - SAT Lucomagno - 2205m

The hut was built in 1994/95 and extended in 2007 and stands next to the military barrack of the same name, which was built by a pioneer company during the Second World War (1942). The Capanna Scaletta is the northernmost hut in Ticino and is located on a natural balcony above the Pian Geirett at an altitude of 2205 meters. From here you have an unobstructed view of the Blenio Valley and beyond. Sometimes the view extends as far south as Monte Generoso. The Cima di Camadra and Piz Medel can be seen nearby. The hut is the starting point for many other three-thousand-metre peaks or for less demanding hikes, where hidden places of immense beauty can be discovered.
