How are the boundaries between public space and the intimacy of private space to be defined? What shall remain hidden from the eyes of the passer-by and what, on the other hand, is to be shown to them? In what ways is the structure of a dwelling able to enclose the living space, while allowing the gaze to escape towards wider horizons?
Luc Boegly explores the length and breadth of Monte Carasso, a territory which, since 1979, thanks to the work of Luigi Snozzi, has undergone a process of transformation and densification. This has been based on an urban project that aimed to define, in a very detailed manner, an ‘identifiable’ type of spatiality, by allowing for the creation of gathering places, and in contrast to indefinite and uncontrolled peri-urban expansion.
