The Valley of the Sun: where culture meets the genuine local flavours of the Blenio Valley

Important information

The activity takes place when the minimum number of participants is reached.

Description

Let’s set off to discover the Blenio Valley, also known as the “Valley of the Sun”. The guided tour begins with a visit to the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Lottigna (or the Fondazione Archivio Donetta, Corzoneso, depending on availability), housed in a charming 16th-century building. There, we’ll admire historical frescoes and a rich collection that tells the story of local traditions, from craftsmanship to winemaking. After the visit, we’ll have the chance to taste the typical Ticinese bread cake, a real regional delicacy. The tour continues with a stop at the Croce farm, where we will enjoy an aperitivo of fresh cheeses and their delicious homemade gelato, a mouthwatering way to explore even more local flavours. The Croce farm is a family-run business offering fresh, high-quality products, all locally sourced. Around 50 dairy cows and a similar number of young Brown Swiss cattle are tended with great care. Most of the herd spends the summer grazing in the nearby alpine pastures. We end the tour with a relaxing walk in nature, fully immersing ourselves in the beauty and traditions of the Blenio Valley. A unique experience blending culture, taste and nature!
