Ticket Montebello

Description

Montebello Castle is, in order of time and size, the second largest castle in Bellinzona. Situated on the Montebello hill, about 90 metres above the level of the town, the manor consists of a primitive nucleus erected at the end of the 13th century by the Ghibelline Rusca family of Como for residential purposes. The castle of Montebello was then gradually enlarged by the Viscontis of Milan between the 14th and 15th centuries. The Montebello Archaeology exhibition can be visited inside, where a selection of finds from the Ticino region is presented, with particular attention to the Bellinzona region and the upper valleys.

The ticket includes admission to the inner courtyard, the walls and the "Archeologia Montebello" exhibition in the castle.
