Urban viticulture in Bellinzona: a journey through history and flavour
The activity takes place when the minimum number of participants is reached.
Description
For centuries, the terraced vineyards characteristic of Ticino’s wine-growing tradition have shaped the landscape of Bellinzona. Grapes and wine, in their most authentic form, have long held pride of place on local tables, from those of patrician households to those of ordinary townsfolk.
We begin our Agriesperienza with a charming walk through the wine-growing landscape of Bellinzona, leading us to the vineyard of the church of San Sebastiano in Artore. Along the way, we’ll pause for a coffee break amidst the rows of vines, enjoying breathtaking views over Bellinzona and the Magadino Plain, stretching as far as Lake Maggiore. The journey continues into the historic heart of the town, where we’ll uncover fascinating stories and anecdotes about local life and gastronomy. We conclude with a visit to the Manimatte winery, which has been cultivating its vineyard in harmony with nature since 2021. A final tasting of organic wines and local delicacies provides the perfect conclusion to this journey through flavour, culture and landscape.
