Ritom - Piora Funicular
Description
With a maximum slope of 87.8%, the Ritom funicular is one of the steepest funiculars in the world. Built in 1921, at the same time as the SBB hydroelectric plant, the Ritom funicular offers unforgettable experiences and leads to the starting point of many excursions.
After the exciting ride with the Ritom funicular, you will reach the beautiful Ritom-Piora region with its countless mountain lakes.
The didactic trail of Lake Ritom, which runs along the lake on the left-hand side through the vegetation, with information boards enrich the hike with hints about the naturalistic peculiarities of the Ritom-Piora region and the historical curiosities of the area. A great example of how it is still possible to venture into unspoiled places isolated from the everyday world.
